FAQs

What photos should I upload?

We require you to submit one Face and one Main photo when you sign up.

  • Face: This should be a forward-facing colour photo of you from the shoulders up (like a passport photo).
  • Main: This should be a full-body head-to-toe colour photo of you in a neutral pose. It should not be a selfie.

In your photos, please ensure you are standing against a solid white or light colour background. You should have a neutral expression and minimal makeup. Please avoid wearing hats, sunglasses or other obstructive accessories or using props or filters.

It’s important that your photos meet these guidelines in order for casting agents to consider you for roles. For more information, see our Photos page.

Do I need professional photos?

No – professional headshots cannot be used to consider you for supporting artist work as they are often retouched and edited. For more information, see our Photos page.

How do I update my main profile photos?

We recommend that you update your Main and Face photos every six months so casting agents know that they reflect your current look.

The quickest way to update your photos is in the Photographs tab at the top of your profile. Updating your photos here means you won’t have to wait for someone in the EP team to approve them.

To update your Main or Face photo, scroll down to Community Approved Photos and select Edit Photos. Your new photos will need to meet the photo guidelines in order to move into these slots (for more information, see our Photos page).

To add additional photos, use the Current Look slots or scroll down to the Secondary Photos section.

I updated my main profile photos. Why are my old ones still showing?

Your Main and Face photos are essential to you being considered by casting agents for any productions. Because of their importance, they are locked once it has been confirmed that they meet our photo guidelines.

To update your locked Main and Face photos:

  1. Select the Photographs tab at the top of your profile.
  2. Scroll down to Community Approved Photos and select Edit Photos.
  3. Upload your new photos.

Note: your photos will need to meet our photo guidelines in order to move into these slots (for more information, see our Photos page). If your photos do not update automatically, please re-review our photo guidelines, retake your photos and reupload them.

Rest assured that casting agents look at all the photos on your profile to determine if you’re right for a role, so any new photos that you upload to the additional spots will be visible.

What should I wear in my photos?

While we understand that personal and artistic expression are important, we encourage you to infuse your personal style while dressing in a professional manner that you would like to be seen by casting agents, production teams and other industry professionals.

Casting agents recommend neutral, form-fitting clothing and minimal makeup so that they can get a true sense of what you look like. Please avoid wearing white, as well as sunglasses, hats and other obstructive accessories.

Please also ensure that you wear clothes that cover your torso and chest in your Face and Main photo. Additional photos, including photos of you wearing specific clothing like a uniform, formal dress or bathing suit, can be uploaded to your profile once you have submitted your application.

For more information, see our Photos page.

How many photos can I add to my profile?

Quality over quantity is key when adding photos to your online profile, as too many photos clutters your profile and makes it harder for casting agents to find the photos that help determine if you can portray the role they’re booking.

We recommend uploading a side photo and a back-of-the head photo. Other useful photos include:

  • A no-makeup photo
  • Photos of your hands (both palms up and palms down)
  • A glasses-on and glasses-off photo, if you wear glasses

It’s also a good idea to include photos of 1-2 additional looks, such as you in a formal outfit or uniform if you own one. You should also add photos of any cars or pets which you own and are willing to work with.

Keep in mind, these photos should always reflect your current look and be unedited and unfiltered. Professional headshots cannot be used to consider you for supporting artist work as they are often retouched and edited.

Why won’t my photo upload to my profile?

Please check that your photo is in .jpeg or .png format. Our platform does not accept photos in other formats, such as .pdf.

If you are trying to upload photos to your Main and Face slots, please note that they must meet our photo guidelines in order to be accepted (for more information, see Photos). If your photos are not accepted, please re-review our photo guidelines, retake your photos, and reupload them.

How do I delete photos from my profile?

To delete a photo, navigate to the Photographs section of your profile. Find the photo you wish to delete and click Edit Photo in the bottom right corner of the picture, then Delete.

Note that your Main and Face photos are essential to you being considered by casting agents for any productions and therefore cannot be deleted, only replaced.

To replace your locked Main and Face photos:

What does Entertainment Partners do with my photos?

The EP Casting Community is used by the UK’s leading casting agencies to find and book supporting artists on film and TV productions. The photos you upload to your profile will be visible to all of the casting agencies who use the EP Casting Community. In order for you to be booked, casting agencies also need to share photo(s) of you with production teams so they can select people to achieve the right look for the scenes they are portraying on camera.
