Photos
When it comes to adding photos to your profile, it’s quality over quantity. When you sign up, you’ll need to provide a Main and Face photo. Update your photos every six months (or if your look has changed) so casting agents know that they reflect your current look.
Adding Photos to your Profile
Face Photo
This should be a headshot from the shoulders up (like a passport photo). It should not be a professional headshot, as these are often edited and do not give casting agents and production teams an accurate idea of what you look like. Stand against a plain (ideally white) background and make sure your camera is in portrait mode and that you’re facing the camera straight on, with the top of your head and shoulders at the edges of the frame (the top of your head must not be cut off). Your arms should be at your sides, not posing next to or covering your face.
Main Photo
This should be a full-length body shot taken against a plain (ideally white) background. Have a friend or family member take your photo in portrait orientation so you're framed straight on, head-to-toe, taking up the majority of the frame. Your whole body must be directly facing the camera, not angled or posed to the side.
Additional Photos
After creating your profile, you can add additional photos in the Photographs tab of your profile. After uploading a photo, you must choose a slot (category) for your picture. You do not need a photo for every slot, these are just options for different ways to categorise your pictures. Too many photos clutter your profile and makes it harder for casting agents and production teams to consider you for a role. We recommend uploading a side photo and a back-of-the-head photo. Other useful photos include a no make-up photo, hand photos (palms up and palms down), and glasses-on and glasses-off photos (if you wear glasses). It’s also a good idea to include photos of 1-2 additional looks, such as you in a formal outfit or uniform. Finally, add photos of any cars or pets which you own and are willing to work with.
How to Take Castable Photos
Photo Do's
Do take your photos against a white or solid light background.
Do make sure your face is clearly visible, in focus and well lit.
Do include both a hair-up and a hair-down photo (if you have long hair).
Do include photos of any relevant props or costume options you own in the wardrobe slots.
Do make sure all the photos on your profile reflect your current look.
Photo Don'ts
Do not include other people in your photos.
Do not wear hats, sunglasses, or anything that obscures your appearance.
Do not include props in your Main or Face photo.
Do not include edited or filtered photos (this includes professional headshots).
Do not include screenshots or photos of pictures.
Do not include wardrobe photos with costumes or props that you don’t own.
Do not include old photos that do not represent how you look now.
How to Update Your Photos
We recommend that you update your Main and Face photos every six months so casting agents know that they reflect your current look.
Step 1
The quickest way to update your photos is in the Photographs tab at the top of your profile. Updating your photos here means you won’t have to wait for someone in the EP team to approve them.
Step 2
To update your Main or Face photo, scroll down to Community Approved Photos and select Edit Photos. Your new photos must meet the above guidelines in order to move into these slots.
Step 3
To add additional photos, use the Current Look slots or scroll down to the Secondary Photos section. See above for the additional photos we recommend adding to your profile.
