Casting Process
Follow these simple steps to get booked as a supporting artist.
To become a supporting artist in the UK, sign up for a free profile on the EP Casting Community, add your photos and details to complete your profile, then respond to availability enquiries from casting agents as they come in.
Sign up and complete your profile
Casting agents search the EP Casting Community using the information on each artist's profile. When you sign up, you’ll provide basic information to get up and running. Once you’ve created a profile, you should log in and complete as many additional fields as possible as this is how casting agents will find you and decide whether you’re a good fit for a project.
The more information and photos you provide on your profile, the greater your chances of being cast. At a minimum, make sure that your headshot and full-body shot follow our photo guidelines.
Respond to availability enquiries
If a casting agent thinks you're a good fit for a project, they'll send you an availability enquiry via email or text. This will include key information like the dates of the shoot and whether a costume fitting is needed. It may also ask you to upload additional photos or answer specific questions. To be considered for the job, make sure you respond before the cut-off specified in the message.
If you respond as available, the casting agent will send your information and photos to the production team who will make the final decision. This can take a few days, so be sure to keep the dates free until you hear back (if you become unavailable, please email the agent as soon as possible). If you can't make the shoot dates, it's a good idea to respond as unavailable so the agent can consider you for other roles on the production.
Accept the booking
If you are successful, the casting agent will send you a booking confirmation message via email or text (if it’s close to the shoot day, they may just send a check-in message). Respond to this message to accept the booking or let the agent know that you are no longer available (note: if you respond yes to an availability enquiry, you should keep the dates free. If you need to cancel, please email the agent as soon as possible rather than waiting for the booking confirmation so they can replace you).
You will receive a check-in message with all the information you need for your workday closer to the event (often the day before). Make sure you respond to your check-in message so the agent knows you have received all the details and will be working as expected. If you weren’t selected this time, you should receive a message to let you know that you have been released.
